Courtney Roslyn is a 7-year-old girl from Nebraska who is on a big mission to hug police officers.
While it may sound like an easy task, Courtney isn’t going to just be hugging police officers from her own town. Nope, Her and her mom are traveling coast-to-coast so she can give a big hug to a police officer in every state.
Courtney got the idea after she heard about shootings in Baton Rouge and Texas. “Because that’s the best thing of all,” Courtney says of her idea. “Make them feel blessed.”
Many officers who she’s paid a visit to definitely feel blessed indeed.
“It warms your heart, really it does,” Sergeant Benjamin Murry of the Nebraska City Police Department says. “It helps people to know that this is why we do what we do.”
As of June 11, 2017, Courtney has made it to 15 of 50 states. The next place on her list is Chicago, Illinois. Courtney’s mom says they hope to get through every state in 18 months.
Courtney isn’t the only kiddo brightening the days of police officers. Jackson Bisazzo showed up to his precinct with adorable survival kits and little Evie loves police so much she threw a police-themed party!
