It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 11 years since Australian zookeeper and conservationist Steve Irwin, better known as “The Crocodile Hunter”, passed away.
But today, his legacy still lives on in his children. Irwin’s now 19-year-old daughter, Bindi, has become an international award-winning wildlife conservationist. Her little brother, Robert, shares her passion for conservation — and at just 14 years old, he’s an incredibly talented photographer.
Though Robert mostly grew up without his dad, he definitely inherited Irwin’s love for nature.
Along with Bindi and his mom, Terri, Robert is very involved in educating the public, especially young people, about animals and how they can help conservation efforts.
He also travels the world, capturing the wildlife he loves so much in stunning photographs.
Having his photos featured in galleries across Australia and being recognized as the junior runner-up in the 2016 Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year competition and a finalist in 2017, there’s no doubt Robert’s future as a photographer is very bright.
Check out a few of his most beautiful wildlife shots below.
There are tons of unexpected things that can happen during the day, but that's what makes life so unpredictable, isn't it? Oddly enough, we're in too much of a rush to realize that it's happening, but in some instances, someone captures these strange events. So here are some perfectly timed pictures that will really mess with your mind. From a dog in the right place at the right time to a guy with a sausage head working at a deli, some of these images are taken at the perfect moment that something eye-catching happens, and it'll totally blow your mind.
#1. This dog's ego is so big, and now there's a pawsome street mural that totally reflects that.
You can haul out the holly, put up a tree, and fill up the stocking till Santa comes home. But did you know that you're neglecting one important part in your whole holiday decoration motif? We're talking about your face, duh! Sure, it's nice to decorate your place, but you spend most of the day outside at school, or at work, or hanging out with your friends. The least you can do is put on a face that shows off your festive side. But you don't want to spend hours crafting the perfect full face makeup look. So instead, focus on your brows and turn them into adorable Christmas tree brows!
Christmas trees are spreading all over Instagram faster than a Trojan computer virus.
You can thank the concept of the Santa brows to vlogger Taylor, who is responsible for these amazing holiday brows, and she shapes them in a way that looks absolutely beautiful. The trend is definitely edgy, but wearable enough that anyone can recreate at home!
The first step in getting these Christmas tree brows involves shaping them so that they look feathery.
Using gel, Vaseline, or wax, you too can part your eyebrows and spread the hairs out so that they look like the arms of a horizontal Christmas tree. Then it's really all about accessorizing our brows with stickers and jewelry beads.
Once you've got the shape all sorted out, then you do what you'd do with a real tree and decorate it.
You can apply tiny gems that give off the look of ornaments, and they'll definitely sparkle when the light hits your face. But don't forget to pop a gold star for your good work. That way, the brow tree will look like it's got a star on the tip.
Taylor's tutorials have become quite popular with girls who want to do something a little bit different.
With her guidance, you can even accentuate the look of your tree brows with glitter and green eye shadow. The important thing is to use colors that really bring out the Christmas spirit out into the open.
It doesn't matter how you decide to decorate your Christmas tree brows so long as you have fun.
You can look at her Instagram for some inspiring looks as well. Then, if you're feeling bold, you can mix and match some of the ideas and create your own spin on Taylor's concept. She won't mind as long as your brows look like Christmas trees.
This isn't just “another day, another brow trend” that you can simply brush under the Christmas tree.
Your Christmas brows will catch everyone's attention, and of course, you get to be the most precious looking gift under the tree. So check out Taylor's social media and tutorials out, so your brows can join you in the festivities. Merry Christmas, indeed!
With Christmas only a few weeks away, it makes perfect sense that some folks would start dusting off those nativity scene displays and placing them indoors or out on the porch for the neighbors to see. But what might seem like a sacred way to honor the birth of Jesus to you, may seem more like a cat hangout for your feral feline. So, here's a collection of cats who insisted on crashing one of the most celebrated births around the world. They're so hilarious that you'll be screaming, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, from laughing so hard at these adorable little cats.
#1. The moment you realize that cats have no idea they're sitting on Jesus like a chicken with her eggs.
"So, Sorry! Were you planning to use this basket for something else? I thought it was just for me." Well, look. It doesn't seem like Mary or Joseph seem to mind that Jesus is a cat this year, so why should we?
#2. When you take out the manger, and realize shortly after that someone's squatting there instead.
The poor kitty thought you were doing something nice, and finally bought him his own cat hotel. Sorry, Mary, looks like you'll be celebrating the birth of your kid in another manger. This one's booked solid.
#3. So, you've invited everyone to celebrate Jesus' birthday, but you forgot to invite someone special.
It's okay if you kept your kitty's name off the guest list. It's going to crash this holy event, whether you like it or not, and don't think you're off the hook. Kitty's never going to forget the day you left him out of the loop.
#4. Have you ever wondered what the nativity scene would be like if the world was ran by cats?
All hail to the feline king! The Lion King? Never heard of him. But who needs him anyway, when we're vowing down to the most adorable little fur ball.
#5. To you it might seem like tiny figures that represent characters from the nativity scene, but not to kitty.
From your cat's perspective, those figurines are lunch, but the moment it realizes that ceramic doesn't taste as good as mice, it'll start tearing the scene apart. Maybe you should consider displaying the scene somewhere where kitty can't reach.
#6. The shocking moment you tell your kitty that the nativity scene isn't a four-star kitty hotel.
Looks like Krampus might have sent him to ruin your Christmas.
#7. Some kitties are totally okay with you setting up a nativity scene in the living room.
Just try and tell this kitty to get out of there and prevent her from participating in this holy scene, and it'll fling its paws and send Jesus, Mary and Joseph to meet their ceramic doom when they crash on the floor.
#8. Cats find the most adorable places to hide when they play hide and go seek with the entire family.
Looks like kitty learned something from "Where's Waldo?" Can you spot him? It's the most adorable ornament of the entire nativity scene. But you might want to get him out of there before it knocks the Wise Men over?
#9. Not today Jesus! I'm feeling a little tired and I need to take a cat nap in your manger.
Of all the places this kitty would have decided to lay down and chillax, it chose its human family's nativity scene. At least, it was kind enough not to knock any of the ornaments off. But we sure hope it doesn't have a nightmare or it's bye-bye Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
#10. When you add a couple of Christmas lights to your nativity scene, you're going to attract attention.
Lights guided this kitty to the manger. But it looks like the cat is out of the bag because he's been caught. Oh well, we're sure his human family won't mind if he crashes the party, and neither will the little figurines.
#11. To you, it might seem like a manger, but to your kitty, it's a challenge to tear the whole thing down.
It looks like Christmas is in trouble now that a huge cat has decided to attack the manger and rewrite history. Or maybe it just ran out of toothpicks and needs the roof to pick out some mouse that's stuck in his teeth.
#12. Monkey see monkey do, or in this case, kitty see, kitty do when this nativity scene was set up.
It saw all the other people displayed beautifully, and thought, "Hey, I want to participate in this too." Where else can a kitty hang out with farm animals and a holy savior during the Christmas season?
#13. The light is shining on baby Jesus, and kitty doesn't seem to be too happy about sharing the spotlight.
"Alright, fine, if you guys like the kid more than me, that's cool. I'll just pack my bags and go live somewhere else." Oh, kitty, please don't leave. Quick, someone get him a treat or a ball of yarn to make him feel special.
#14. "Why are you worshipping him when you should be worshipping me," said the cat to all who'd listen.
Looks like he made himself quite at home in the manger. You know you've got to do better when your cat is looking to life-size figures from the nativity scene to get some attention and TLC. Maybe Mary and Joseph will wind up adopting him?
#15. There's only one person you should be vowing to hear, and can you guess who that is yet?
If you guessed the cat, then you're right on track, just like those wise men figurines. Now what will it take to get you onboard and get you to worship this adorable soft kitty? Come on, at least leave a saucer of milk by the manger.
#16. Sound the trumpets and prepare to celebrate as a new cat king is born into the world.
It's a kitty celebration, but the only thing that it wants to do is lay on this bale of hay. It doesn't know why everyone is making such a fuss over him and his friends in the background. You'd swear that they'd never seen a cat before.
#17. The holidays can be an emotional time for everyone, even cats, as these homeowners learned.
"Could someone please take a selfie of me with the holy family. It's like a dream come true, and it'll make my Insta-followers skyrocket." Oh, alright kitty. You can stop your crying. We'll take a photo of you. Say "Nativity Scene."
#18. Seriously? You're putting this up again? Didn't you add this décor last year around December?
Looks like this kitty is taking over as the new "Grinch" this holiday season. He looks like he's so over it, or maybe he's just mad that someone placed the nativity scene where he usually likes to lie down and do nothing all day.
#19. For this kitty, the nativity scene is like a play, and while Jesus may be the lead, this cat is the star.
"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille. Wait, what do you mean I'm not a part of this play?" Uh, oh! Looks like someone better give this cat a part soon or all hell might break loose on this nativity set.
#20. When you hope that everyone will be drawn by your nativity scene, but kitty is drawn to something else.
It might seem like kitty is fixated on the cross on top of the manger, but what it's really trying to figure out is whether you knew that there was another cat living in the house, and it has glowing yellow eyes.
#21. It seems like a lot of animals were invited to the nativity scene, but why weren't there any cats?
There was an ox, a donkey, and camels but this year, kitty and his friends decided to change things up a bit, and correct an age-old injustice. This Christmas, cats get to be represented in the nativity scene and will not be ignored.
#22. Kitties don't really get this whole Christmas thing, especially when they're still as young as baby Jesus.
We're sure that in this instance, everyone can make an exception for this little ball of fur, who's as happy as can be inside what he thinks is his little home.
#23. Not all cats are scaredy, at least not this one, as you can see from this massive act of defiance.
Oh, sure, the savior might have been born, but this kitty is committing hubris by trying to prove that he's really on top of the world, or at least, on top of the manger. We sure hope that he doesn't decide to poop all over Christmas this year.
Committing to a long-distance relationship isn’t the easiest thing to do. Regardless of that, many couples still decide to try, with the hopes of eventually living in the same zip code. This comic illustrates the ups and downs of these relationships in an absolutely perfect manner!
A long-distance relationship can be compared to riding on a roller coaster. Being together is like flying. Nothing can take away your shine. But all that changes when it’s time to say your goodbyes. Anxiety starts to show its ugly face, and when you’re standing all alone at the airport, your hearts begins to break all over again. After that, you’re having to deal with the grief of separation.
It Gets Lonely
You feel like when your significant other left, they took away all of the sunshine with them. Life is nothing but gray clouds now. Your last moments together are replaying like a movie in your mind over and over again. It feels like the next time you’re together will never arrive. And being in the present is impossible without them. Then you hear his voice again and you’re reminded of why you continue to live like this.
Feeding Your Emotions
His voice is the last thing you hear before bed and the first thing you hear while drinking your morning coffee. The messages he sends are tiny reminders to keep holding on. On those days you don’t hear from him, you’re staring at your screen in bed, eventually falling asleep clutching your phone. When you wake up, all of the texts are there and you do it all again.
Loving Each Other Through A Screen
Figuring out how to stay in touch, and make time for each other, is tricky at first. Your first video chats are awkward, and there are some missed calls. But, eventually, everything works out. You make the best of it, and it ends up being the closest thing to being physically together. Your friends may not agree with the relationship and sometimes it can be a bit tough to brush off their criticism.
They Don't Understand
Your friends and family may mean well by thinking they can talk you out of it all. They try to set you up with their boyfriend’s best friend (he’s great, you should meet him) or dismiss your relationship as a fling. You feel like your relationship is constantly under attack, but after a while, you learn not to let it bug you. The struggle is worth it to you because no one makes you laugh like he does.
The little things are an everyday reminder of why you keep doing this. Like when you feel like nothing's going right for you, and you just want the day to end. One "I love you" text and the sun begins to shine again. He’s a miracle worker for your heart. You try to bottle up those moments for later use because you know you’ll need them another day.
Other Couples Make It Worse
Seeing other couples together is one of the hardest parts of long distance relationships. You’re constantly reminded of what you’re missing when you see them holding hands, giggling together, or sharing little kisses. You have to remind yourself that just because you’re not physically together, it doesn’t mean your love isn’t as strong. But, sometimes, your heart gets the best of you.
Don't Even Talk To Him
Being in a long distance relationship can make your jealousy go a little crazy. You have to remind yourself that of course he has friends. So do you! You can’t even think about him having a conversation with someone else. You have to tell yourself that you’re being irrational, but in all honesty, you can’t help yourself. After all, you should be the one with him. Days like those make you question how you’ll ever make it.
Being Each Other's Rock
You’re not the only one suffering. Some days you can hear the pain in his voice, and you would give anything to reach through the phone to hold him. You know that you’ll never give up. You know you can handle the pain. But what if he can’t? The thought of him pulling away is enough to break your heart into a million pieces.
No, You Hang Up First
When this happens, you stay on the phone for countless hours to ease his mind. The phone has become your lifeline to each other, and you never want to hang up. You stay on the phone until your eyes are almost closed. His breathing becomes more shallow, and it kind of feels like he’s right next to you falling asleep.
You know it’s important to make him feel like you’re right there with him. That means occasionally sending him expensive packages. They eventually become a part of your budget plan, and that means fewer dinner dates with friends and coffee at home. Every penny you save means you get to see the smile on his face when he opens your package.
The Little Things
Even though you go through all of the struggles and heartache, sometimes things play out in your favor. Even something as little as sleeping with one of his shirts goes a long way in this crazy whirlwind of a relationship. Despite all that, nothing is as good as hearing that he’s coming to see you.
It's Almost That Time
Once you find out that he’s coming, your life is all about counting down the days. It consumes your thoughts, your dreams, and your friends eventually get tired of hearing you talk about it. Every day you’re wishing that you could fast forward time. The day finally approaches and your stomach is full of butterflies waiting for that first embrace.
Reality Is Better Than Dreaming
You’re at the airport again, but this time you won’t be saying goodbye. Your heart feels like it’s going to jump out of your chest when you see him coming towards you. Those first moments can be awkward, like you’re not sure if you’re in a dream. Then you hug each other, and you melt into his arms, knowing that it’s real. At least for a little while, it’s just you and him.
Cherishing Every Single Moment Together
When you’re together, the rest of the world just fades away. Every moment consists of wanting to look into each other’s eyes and touch each other’s skin. Just taking a walk together, or having coffee at your favorite cafe, is the best day ever. You keep each other close, knowing that pretty soon you’ll have to say goodbye to one another all over again.
When it comes to keeping kids entertained, sometimes the only thing a parent can do to get a moment of peace is put on a video.
While no parents would advocate letting television or online entertainment be a “babysitter,” the truth is that many parents rely on the stolen moments they gain when their child is watching Peppa Pig, even if they limit screen time. That’s why apps like YouTube Kids are so popular. Theoretically, a child can sit down with the app and watch content that’s appropriate for them, featuring the characters they know and love.
Unfortunately, the reality is much more complex. Parents have started to notice that their children have been exposed to inappropriate content on YouTube Kids, and what’s even scarier is that it’s disguised to look like the videos your kids watch on a regular basis.
Just so you know, this article will be covering sensitive topics, and some may find the images below disturbing.
A few weeks ago, the writer James Bridle published a post on Medium detailing the disturbing trend he’s noticed among children’s entertainment on YouTube Kids. The first videos he explores aren’t necessarily upsetting, but they do reveal that channels are using largely automated processes to create videos designed to game the YouTube algorithm to get a huge number of plays and thus ad revenue. This isn’t particularly shocking because YouTube channels are designed to make money. But it does get into some weird territory.
Bridle explains that these automated, algorithmic approaches to creating content for kids feel off, and they result in crazy mashups that use nursery rhymes, songs, and characters from across shows, movies, and genres. There’s nothing inherently bad about the video below, but it’s kind of weird and unsettling. But this odd use of copyrighted characters is what starts us down the path of the truly evil.
Some of the most upsetting content on YouTube Kids is disguised as a regular episode of, say, Peppa Pig. Whether it’s right away or several minutes in, these videos then turn violent, sexual, or sometimes both, exposing children to things they shouldn’t have to see. As Bridle points out, it’s easy to understand how content like this slips through the YouTube filters, but we have no idea who is creating this disturbing imagery and why.
In addition to animated content, there are also live action channels, some of which have been removed since Bridle’s article. YouTube has responded, saying it has demonetized more than 2 million videos, removing more than 150,000 of them for having inappropriate content. Still, it’s shocking that so many videos were allowed to remain up for so long, and some parents are saying this move is too little, too late.
Philip DeFranco, a parent and YouTuber with more than 5 million subscribers, recently addressed the issue on his independent news channel. In addition to explaining the issue, he outlined how parents can take steps to protect their children by monitoring their use and only playing videos from official sources.
This is incredibly upsetting, but it’s so important that people are finally paying attention to this issue. Please share this with all the parents and grandparents you know in order to help keep kids safe. I know I will be.
They say to “dance like nobody is watching,” but so many people are too self conscious to actually do it.
John Lawless, a 50-year-old father from Long Island, is not one of those people who cares what others think of his dance moves. He was recently at a Janet Jackson concert with his son Kevin when he started bopping along in the stands to the Jackson 5’s hit “I Want You Back.” People around began to take notice of John’s passionate dance moves, and when a video found its way to Facebook, his moves unexpectedly went viral.
John said he’s been overwhelmed by the positivity being thrown his way, saying that it’s his son Kevin, ironically an aspiring dancer, who allowed him to shake his groove thing. “When I go to concerts with my daughter or wife, they don’t really like to let me loose,” he said.
This is too much. It definitely brought a smile to my face. We need more people like John in the world, brightening it up with their positivity!
Now that December is finally here and Christmas is just around the corner, it’s that time again to gather your family for that cheesy photo nobody really wants to take.
But say you actually like sending out that Christmas card photo of your family every year, or you just want a cute, festive picture of yourself to share with your Instagram followers this holiday season. Photographer Irene Rudnyk shares some great behind-the-scenes tips for adding some magic to your photos and making them look extra dazzling.
With model Emily Brown, Rudnyk hung Christmas lights where the shoot would take place.
Here’s one of the final photos, complete with ear muffs, a scarf, and a coffee cup.

Even if you don’t have a professional camera, using lights and the tricks Rudnyk did could still even brighten up your smartphone pictures. Be sure to check out more of Rudnyk’s work on Facebook and Instagram.
We all know that we should never leave a dog alone in the car during extreme temperatures.
When it’s not too hot or too cold, however, there’s a little bit of leeway. You might be able to pop into the store for a minute while your dog takes a breather in the car. That is, as long as your dog doesn’t figure out how to use the horn to demand you come back immediately.
One man heard continuous honking coming from a car and thought he saw a human sitting in the front seat. What he found instead is too funny for words.
Watch as he gets closer and closer to the culprit. OMG!
When we accept pets into our lives, it’s supposed to be for better or for worse.
Whether it’s behavioral issues or health problems, once you’ve committed to an animal, you’re supposed to follow through on that commitment. It’s not something that should be thrown out the window lightly.
Unfortunately, there are people out there who don’t take pet ownership seriously enough, and that can lead to issues when a pup is injured. It seems crazy that someone would abandon a dog in their time of need, but shelters see this kind of cruelty all the time. That’s how they found themselves with Tiger, a chihuahua mix with a heck of a story.
Tiger had a slipped disc in his spine, and he underwent a difficult and expensive surgery called a hemilaminectomy while under the care of his previous owners. The doctor warned them that Tiger would need some time to recover, but they soon abandoned Tiger.
After just nine days, the owners wanted Tiger to be euthanized because he still couldn’t walk and needed to be assisted when urinating and defecating. The surgeon insisted that he just needed more recovery time and created a temporary wheelchair out of PVC pipe, but the owners insisted he be put to sleep. They had a newborn on the way and didn’t have the resources to deal with a handicapped dog.
The Fuzzy Pet Foundation has been raising money on GoFundMe for Tiger’s permanent wheelchair. His prognosis is good. He’s no longer in pain, and he’s living a happy and healthy life. He may even walk on his own again, but only time will tell.
They know it will take some time to find Tiger the right home, because many (like his previous owners) are unwilling or unable to care for an animal with special needs. But they know that the right person will take on this sweet baby in time. Watch the video below for more of his story and to see him running around!
I can’t believe someone would abandon this poor pup, but I’m so glad he was rescued. Now someone will be able to enjoy his company for years to come.
