Although some may see the Amish's bubble-wrapped world as unrealistic, they seem to be doing it effortlessly.

  • A Photographer And Some Police Officers Helped Children Live Their Dreams.

    cdn.lifebuzz.com_images_230849_lifebuzz-9857b3477a081195bd9dbf3719a25cb0-thumb_800

Photographer Carrie Lewis of Glass Crown Photography knows what children with special needs go through. These kids often face physical, mental, and emotional challenges in a world that's not always open-minded or kind-hearted. In fact, according to Lewis, some photographers don't shoot special needs kids. It was a shocking truth that she learned when she reached out to her community to see if any parents wanted to make their special needs children's dreams come true. Fortunately, with the help of some kind-hearted cops, Lewis managed to bring three kids a whole lot closer to their dreams last Halloween.

Just watch as this "junior" officer's face lights up with happiness and melts your heart away.

This past Halloween, Carrie Lewis decided to make the lives of three special needs kids better by turning their dreams into a reality. Not only did she get the kids to dress up like cops, but she got a few real-life cops to join in on the fun.

Carrie came up with a photo project to give special needs kids the chance to turn dreams into reality.

What she didn't expect was getting almost 100 families to respond to her request. Unfortunately, she could only help three kids, but she's hoping that her project will open other photographer's hearts to bring a smile to kids like this one.

When Carrie reached out to the Rapid City Police Department, she got more than she ever expected.

Not only did the cops close off an entire alleyway, but they brought for police cruisers, turn the sirens on, and showed three kids what being a cop was all about. The chance to bond with the men in blue made these kids so very happy.

Every kid got the chance to look like real police officer, with badges, jackets and all.

One kid was looking really cool holding handcuffs. Can you tell just how excited and into it this kid is? Giving them this opportunity was something that was very dear to Carrie because her son also has special needs.

Life for these boys hasn't always been easy, but at the end of the day, they're just like everyone else.

They have dreams that they hope can be turned into reality someday. Thankfully Carrie's project has brought them that much closer to their goals. And you've got the proof in each of their wide smiles too.

The cops who participated in the photo shoot also posted the photos on Facebook too.

They also wrote that "We were honored to help these kids have a day that they will remember forever!" With all the crime that goes on in the city, it's refreshing to see such a pleasant display of human kindness.

The cops who participated in the photo shoot also posted the photos on Facebook too.

Each child got the chance to get behind the wheel of a police cruiser and live out their fantasy.

It really wasn't difficult to make a difference in the lives of these kids. All Carrie had to do was appeal to the one dream they wanted above all else, which was to patrol the streets and keep the city safe, even if it was just for pretend.

The Rapid City Police Department really came through for Carrie and the kids in a big way.

They officers participated in a photoshoot with 13-year-old Zane, who has Down Syndrome, 7-year-old Elliott, who has bilateral clubfoot, a coloboma in his left eye, and 4 dead spots in his brain, and cerebral palsy, and 11-year-old Owen, who has Angelman Syndrome.

Carrie is hopeful that this gesture will go a long way to bringing a little happiness to special needs kids.

For Zane, Elliot, and Owen, this experience meant the world to them and thanks to her Glass Crown Photography page on Facebook, others can see how easy it is to make a difference in the lives of these children.

    Military Life Cycle

Losing a loved one is tough. Whether you knew then your whole life or got taken away too soon, the pain you feel is never-ending. But in rare instances, a kind gesture from a loved one, a friend, or a perfect stranger can lessen that pain. Just ask this family who received an unexpected act of compassion from another mourner.

    Military Life Cycle

For 16 years, Staff Sergeant Joseph Villasenor served honorably in the United States Air Force, since he enlisted in 1994. He also pitched for the Charleston Air Force Base's softball league, which was his favorite sport. For Villasenor, it was a dream come true. But in 2010, the most unimaginable thing happened on his way to a game.

36-year-old Sergeant Villasenor was killed in a car crash. As an Arlington, Texas native, his body was interred in Conroe, Texas at Garden Park Cemetery. He left behind a grieving wife and two loving parents, Raymond and Rachel. But one day, when his folks went to visit him, they saw something shocking in his grave, and it was all because of a kind widower.

86-year-old Jake Reissig lost his wife, Betty, of 65 years back in 2014. They had a fairytale life and nine children together. But after she died, the Conroe resident started a routine that he continues to do to this day. Fortunately, it also helped change another family in mourning's life in ways he couldn't have foreseen.

Since his wife's death, Jake starts off each morning by going to church. Then he meets one of his kids for coffee before going back home. While he's there, he clips a few roses from his beautiful garden and then heads to pay his wife a visit at Garden Park Cemetery. He also makes sure to water Betty's headstone before leaving her the roses. But regardless of the time of year, he never strays from this routine. But why does he do this?

Jake is such a romantic! Throughout their 65-year marriage, he gave Betty a rose every day. But death has no dominion over love, so he continues to give her a rose. On occasion, he'll also talk to his wife, whom he misses very much. But in 2015, something caused him to change his routine by adding one more task.

    Green With Love

A terrible drought hit Texas in the summer of 2015. This caused the grass in the cemetery to turn yellow and dry up. But Jake decided to do something about it by watering the grass around his wife's grave. Eventually, his dedication paid off and the grass turned green again. Then one day, as he wrapped up his routine, he noticed something that deeply affected his heart.

Jake noticed a woman crying uncontrollably by a nearby headstone, which broke his heart. So, he decided to walk up to her to see if he could calm her down. Pretty soon, they began talking, and she spoke to him about her husband Joseph, who had been dead for five years. Somehow, talking to Jake relieved some of her grief. What he didn't realize was how much more his conversation did for her.

Several months later, Raymond and Rachel went to visit Joseph's Grave at Garden Park Cemetery. But they couldn't believe their eyes. While all the other graves were covered with dead grass, the grass on their son's plot was green and lively. But the grieving parents had no idea how this had happened, and they assumed it was some kind of amazing miracle.

Jake walked up to Joseph's bewildered parents and explained to them how he'd spoken to their daughter-in-law a few months earlier. He also told them about his daily routine and how he decided to do the same for Joseph's grave. Jake felt that it was the least he could do for a man who served his country. Raymond and Rachel didn't realize that Jake had lost someone in the armed forces too.

Jake's daughter, Misha, was married to a U.S. veteran named Benjamin. But after being deployed, Ben learned he had cancer. Sadly, despite undergoing chemo, his son-in-law passed away in 2011. Misha has since remarried and now has two children, but the entire family still keeps Benjamin close to their heart. So, Jake totally sympathized with Raymond and Rachel's family in such a painful, but special way.

    Strangers No More

Jake's extraordinary gesture touched Raymond and Rachel, but they had an idea how to thank him, so instead, they gave him a big hug. Rachel couldn't believe that a stranger who had never met her son took the time to care for her son's plot. What Rachel didn't realize was that Joseph and Jake weren't strangers at all. But how was that possible?

Now Jake has two people to talk to when he visits the cemetery; his wife Betty, and Joseph, whom he calls Joe. Of course, this is just the kind of guy he is, according to Jake's son, Roger, who claims his dad's affection for Joe is similar to the way he treated his wife and kids. But Roger wanted to make sure his dad's gesture went viral.

Roger decided to share his father's story on Facebook. Not only did he thank Joseph for his service to our country, but also expressed pride in his dad for honoring him the way he does. Of course, Roger knows how important family is and how quickly someone can be get taken away. In fact, he had a recent scare with one of his own kids.

Last month, three armed robbers burst into a jewelry store in Conroe, Texas, where Roger's daughter, Shae, works. Fortunately, it was Shae's day off, but Roger knows how badly things could have turned out if she had been there. Jake understood his son's fears because he has a strong bond with all his grandkids. In return, they have a leading example of what true love is like in their grandparents, as this photo totally proves.

    Married To An Angel

    Facebook/Diane Reissig Remick

Diane, who's one of Jake's daughters, posted a photo of her parents' 6th wedding anniversary. She also wrote that her parents "are still married… Mon just lives in heaven." Clearly, anyone who's ever met this family can appreciate that what Jake and Betty had was everlasting love.

In the realm of live television, if something can go wrong, chances are it probably will.

As the Georgia Dome was set to be demolished, the Weather Channel saw the event as something viewers would enjoy. Unfortunately, at the very moment the building went up in smoke, the live footage of the event was compromised by an untimely city bus. Thanks to a stoplight at the top of the hill, viewers were treated to a nice shot of the bus with smoke and debris shooting up in the background.

By the time the light had turned green, the demolition was complete and the Weather Channel’s live exclusive was nothing more than an epic fail.

  • 25 Flights That Had The Best Passengers Ever.

    cdn.lifebuzz.com_images_230804_lifebuzz-b8730639c0c1e65632aeea0e1411bd7c-thumb_800

Everyone loves to travel but nobody actually enjoys going to the airport and sitting on a plane for hours. The entire process is super tedious and exhausting. Most people dread the idea of boarding a plane but often times, they're left with no other choice. With that said, there are only two ways a person's flight can become more enjoyable. The first one is booking first class. Unfortunately, that's not affordable for most people. The second way: boarding a flight that has an animal on board. And we're not talking just dogs and cats!

#1. Imagine having the amount of focus this dog has.

He stared out the airplane window for 5 hours straight in silence. He didn't once make a peep.

#2. Ever heard of the phrase, "when pigs can fly?"

Well, they can! Which means everything is possible now, right? They don't have wings, but that's what loopholes are for.

#3. Meet Corporal Kiddy, she's an extremely special canine.

This flight took place after she earned her retirement from the U.S. Marines. The human joining Kiddy made an announcement to congratulate the doggo's 12 years of hard work and everyone on the plane gave a round of applause.

#4. When your service dog befriends another service dog on the plane.

Left dog: "Hi. Are you scared?" Right dog: "Hell yeah, you?" Left dog: "I'm about to pee from where I'm laying."

#5. This is the most behaved pet I've ever seen in any situation.

And look at how calm it is! This doggo deserves all the treats after the flight is over.

#6. Oh you know, just a koala getting some first class service.

It kind of makes you wonder where you are in life when a koala experiences first class service on a flight before you do.

#7. When you're a flight attendant, you see pretty bizarre things on flights.

In today's episode of Life of a Flight Attendant, we see a turkey onboard as a person's "therapy flight." Didn't know turkeys could be so emotionally supportive.

#8. When you open a bag of jerky on the plane and suddenly you see something pop up from the corner of your eye.

You look and it's this little guy peeping out from his bag. Sorry fella, you're too far to share my jerky with! But can we please take a moment to talk about this legroom.

#9. This is Daniel the duck. Don't ever call him Donald Duck, he hates that.

He's an emotional support duck that was on a flight to Asheville. But more importantly, LOOK AT THOSE BOOTS. Daniel is stylin'.

#10. Flights can be tedious, uncomfortable and dreadful, especially if it's a long one.

But one thing that will ALWAYS make it better is seeing a puppy on the flight with you. Just look at this little guy, how can you not instantly feel better?

#11. This has got to be the cutest cat on a plane ever.

He looks so surprisingly calm while being held by his owner. And he's so little! If I were on this flight, I'd spend my entire time just staring at this feline.

#12. When the passenger next to you on the plane is a celebrity.

Excuse me, sir, don't you belong in first class? Or better yet, in your own private jet plane? Who is your manager? He/she is doing a terrible job.

#13. Imagine being told that you'll be in the same flight as exotic cheetahs.

Only to board and see these incredibly cute little creatures. I'd freak out but in a good way.

#14. When a dog checks you to make sure you know who you're dealing with.

Just look at those eyes. This doggo means business! He wants the human next to him to know that the doggo is the superior.

#15. Yes, your eyes have not fooled you. Those are indeed hawks occupying the seats.

A Saudi prince once bought 80 seats on a plane solely for his 80 hawks. Obviously, you can't expect the man to travel without his birds.

Yes, your eyes have not fooled you. Those are indeed hawks occupying the seats.

#16. If you've never witnessed true love on a plane before this is what it looks like.

This man and his dog have been in this exact position for over 2 hours. If that's not love, I don't know what is.

#17. This doggo got to ride on a private jet plane with his new owner after he escaped a bad foster situation.

The best part? The private jet was free! He got to fly out of state to his new loving forever home.

#18. When the passenger sitting in front of you keeps playing footsies with you.

And you work up the nerve to say something until you finally look down and see this marvelous sight.

#19. When your flight has BOTH a service dog and cat onboard.

This is pretty much the best of both worlds and all the passengers on his flight are extremely fortunate to experience such a thing.

#20. An adult-sized kangaroo on an airplane would probably be terrifying.

But a baby kangaroo wearing human stuff doesn't look as life-threatening and quite frankly, adorable.

#21. When you know you're exactly where you belong.

Going through dog's mind: "Yeah, that's right. This seat belongs to me. I am as much of a passenger as you are. I am your equal."

When you know you're exactly where you belong.

#22. When you start eating your snacks and all of a sudden you feel someone glaring at you.

Hey buddy. I don't know you and you don't know me. So get your own snacks! But I will trade a piece of my snack for the opportunity to pet you.

#23. If you ever wondered what cats look like when they sleep on a plane.

Now, this is a cat you definitely do not want to interrupt or wake up! This cat is literally too cute to bother.

#24. It's his first time flying, can you tell?

Going through dog's mind: "It's ok, it's ok. You're safe. It'll all be over soon before you know it. I'll be back on the ground and have these ridiculous things off my head in no time."

#25. A penguin nonchalantly making its way down the aisle of a Southwest flight.

So this plane's gotta be on the way to the southern hemisphere, right? Is this common? If don't think so.

#26. Some passengers are so great that they're rewarded with meeting the captain of the flight.

Bentley obviously earned the honor to meet this captain. His proud stance says it all!

#27. Do you believe in love in first sight?

Because if this dog stared me straight in the eyes on a flight, I would have fallen in love in an instant.

#28. Woah, didn't realize I was on a flight to Comic Con.

Now I know what I'm dressing my dog up as next Halloween. All I need is a green blanket and the costume is complete.

#29. Everyone's emotional support pet is different depending on the person.

You can be more of a cat person or a dog person. This passenger, in particular, is more of a pony person. As long as the pet helps the person, that's all that matters.

#30. When a passenger is exceedingly bigger than his or her seat.

But we'll let this one slide. Look at that fear in the dog's face. You gotta let him do whatever he wants.

The world is always changing all around us, but it's so gradual that we rarely notice it. But when you look at two photographs taken from the exact same viewpoint at different points in time, you'll notice a huge difference! Most of these places have evolved in ways no one could have imagined several decades ago, while others seem to have barely been affected by the passage of time. It's such a refreshing and mind-blowing perspective on how we look at the world. So, brace yourself and check out these then and now photos and you'll totally see what we mean.

A lot has changed in the span of 125 years in Rysstad, Norway, between 1888 and 2013.

Trees have been added. The old dirt road has been replaced with a modern paved street, and horse drawn carriages have been replaced with modern vehicles. But some of the homes look the same.

The mountains and lakes have remained the same. Even the stones on the side of the road are there, but their shape has changed a bit over the last 127 years. And oh yes! There's a road and lots of cars too.

Martin Luther Statue in Dresden, Germany, has gotten a makeover between 1958 and 2014.

The Church Of Our Lady was destroyed during a bombing in World War II. The ruins were left there for several decades as a reminder before being rebuilt. Ironically, the Martin Luther statue remains unscathed.

  • This Couple Travelled To 50 Countries And Spent Only $8 A Day!

    cdn.lifebuzz.com_images_230803_lifebuzz-29401e576e3da7df2cdd2c41300167ee-thumb_800

When you're old and gray and looking back on your life, will you be able to say that you followed your dreams? Will you be able to say that you went on that trip you were planning? Will you be able to say that you did everything that you ever dreamed of doing? Many people have regrets in their old age, and one of the biggest regrets is not pursuing their dreams. One of the main reasons for not achieving those dreams, is the lack of money. This couple proves that anything is possible, and you don't need a ton of moolah to be able to get it done!

Karol “Charlie” Lewandowski and Aleksandra Ślusarczyk are a young traveling couple from Poland.

The couple knew that they wanted to travel, but like most young people, they didn't have the financial resources to do so.

They decided that no matter what, they were going to go after what they wanted.

But, don't you think for even a second that they let a little thing like money get in the way.

The couple bought an old 1989 VW T3 for $600 in Poland. They painted it, and hit the open road for adventures unknown.

The van breaks down quite often, but they've learned how to fix it themselves to save money.

Now that we're talking about money, you may be asking yourself how they could afford to travel without it!

The couple has learned to travel on a mere $8 a day! How is that even possible?

First off, they put an electric shower, bed, kitchen, and 220V power converter, so they never have to worry about having to stay in a hotel.

They have tents that they can stay in, as well! Which is, in my opinion, better than staying in a hotel anyways!

Another thing that helps them save money is the fact that they never go out to eat. They buy all of their food in the store and cook it themselves!

They are also invited to stay the night in the homes of strangers that they meet on their travels.

Their main cost is the fuel, but they've figured that part out, too!

Not only do they travel with people that help pay for fuel costs, they also send postcards to people from the places they visit, in exchange for one liter of gas.

The couple has been to 50 countries and traveled over 93,000 miles on five continents. Hopefully, hearing their story has inspired you to write that bucket list and follow those dreams!

  • This Rapper Saw A Fan Do Something Awful, So He Used His Platform To Stop It

    media.galaxant.com_000_505_654_340x252-1511109710

Following the aftermath of the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault allegations, Hollywood has experienced a long-overdue calling out of men in power abusing their power to take advantage of countless women and even some men.

Every day it seems like a new accuser has come forward to add another name to the list, comforted by the bravery of those before them. As the hierarchy begins to fall like a row of dominos, the aftershocks of these sexual harassment cases have begun to trickle down into politics thanks to the accusations that Republican Roy Moore engaged in predatory sexual behavior with at least three underage girls.

But as the fall of Hollywood’s patriarchy continues, countless celebs have offered their support of the victims while many others share their own stories with the world. And while a majority of those coming forward happen to be women, there are a few men brave enough to use their privilege and take a stand for those who have been voiceless for so long.

Concertgoers at a recent Drake performance in Australia were caught off guard when the rapper stopped the show in its tracks to address a male fan found groping a young woman in the audience. “If you don’t stop touching girls I’m going to come over there and f*** you up,” he declared while directly addressing the abuser.

Groping and other inappropriate behaviors are nothing new for concertgoers. The general admissions areas of most performance spaces are often cramped to the max with people, leaving plenty of opportunities for men to try and grab women without reproach.

But Drake isn’t the only male performer calling out fans for their perv-ish behaviors. Country singer Aaron Lewis and Architects front-man Sam Carter have both addressed inappropriate touching during their recent concerts.

Unfortunately, fans aren’t the only ones being groped. The Internet is filled with videos of stars such as Harry Styles and Faith Hill becoming the targets for fans that got a little too close for comfort.

While it’s commendable that these performers are speaking out publicly about groping and addressing the culprits head-on, it’s not the be all, end all for groping and sexual assault. Perhaps if men stopped thinking they were God’s gift to women and that they can do whatever they want to them, these issues wouldn’t be happening in the first place.

  • She Let A Stranger Work A Day In Her Cafe. Two Weeks Later The Man Gives Her A Surprise.

Marcus was a homeless man that slept on Minneapolis’ Lake Street, nearby Cesia Abigail’s Cafe. One day, he walked into the cafe, expecting to be turned away since it happened quite often, but the unexpected happened instead. Marcus was offered a second chance at life. Cesia wanted to do something other than just giving him money, so she asked him why it was that he didn’t have a job. After hearing his response, Cesia decided to give him a gift that would keep on giving. Keep reading to find out what Cesia did to change this man's life.

    Say Hello To Cesia

    Say Hello To Cesia

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

25-year-old Cesia runs a small Salvadorian restaurant called Abi’s Cafe. Even though her customers love the food, they love the way Cesia is with people even more. No matter if you’ve been there once, or a hundred times, Cesia treats you like family. Despite her struggles to make ends meet, Cesia always has a bright smile on her face. Each day leaves Cesia feeling exhausted and overworked. Because of that reason, she has no tolerance for freeloaders. So, when Marcus walked into the cafe she said, “You know nothing is given to me for free, right?” But help doesn’t need to come in the form of handouts.

    Kind Offer

    Kind Offer

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

When Cesia asked why Marcus didn’t have a job, she received a pretty typical answer. Marcus replied, “Well, I have a lot of felonies and no one wants to hire me for that. So, now I had to turn myself to the streets and get money the only way I know — stealing and asking for money.” When she heard his reasoning, Cesia realized she could definitely use some help around the cafe. Instead of turning Marcus away, she gave him an answer. “You want a job? Then I have one for you,” Cesia said.

    Will Work for Food

    Will Work for Food

Cesia offered Marcus a paid position, valid for the last two hours of the day, washing dishes. Marcus instantly agreed, replying, "I will do anything for food." Marcus was overwhelmed with happiness. “His eyes opened wide and his smile made my day!!!!” Cesia later wrote on Facebook. Marcus washed his hands and immediately got to work. While Marcus was busy with the dishes, Cesia made him a sandwich. Cesia was surprised when he cut the sandwich in half, wrapped it up one half in tin foil, then booked it out of the cafe.

    Kindness Around the Corner

    Kindness Around the Corner

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

Cesia watched Marcus walk around the corner and offer the other half of his sandwich to a woman sitting on the street. "I said, ‘Marcus do you know the lady over there?’ and he said ‘No, but I know that she is hungry so I gave her my food.' That really touched me," Cesia told CBS News. Marcus was showing that he was a truly amazing person who quickly became a pillar of light for Cesia. "A lot of people are saying I've been a blessing for him, but, at that point, I was the one who needed a blessing," Cesia said.

    Marcus Was Very Persistent

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

Since the restaurant wasn’t doing too well financially, Cesia couldn’t afford to hire Marcus, even though she wanted to help. So, at the end of the day, they said their goodbyes. But, much to her surprise, Marcus continued to show up every day for the next two weeks ready to work his two-hour shift. “Once I pay him guess what he does?” Cesia asked on Facebook.

    He's Such A Hard Worker

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

“He buys food from my restaurant (HE DECIDES TO PAY).” No need to worry, Cesia gave Marcus an employee discount. Why would Marcus spend his hard earned money at the restaurant he worked at? “Because it makes him feel good!” says Cesia. At this point, Cesia is even thinking about giving him a full-time position. "Some restaurants wouldn't even let you use their restrooms," she said in an interview with CBS News. "I don't judge someone on how they look — go use it. I do not treat [homeless people] any different."

    Spread Like Fire

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

“If restaurants and businesses don't do anything to help the less fortunate, then they become part of the problem,” Abigail explained. Cesia began sharing her experience with Marcus on her restaurant’s Facebook page. Her kindness has spread all over the internet. Today, the post has been commented on over 8,000 times and has been shared over 200 thousand times. "We need more people like this. We are all human; we make mistakes,” wrote one commenter.

    The Road to Recovery

    The Road to Recovery

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

"All we need sometimes is a helping hand," said another. Since the young age of 16, Marcus has been just getting by and living on the streets. Life on the streets is a hard life to live, and even though Marcus has been blessed, he still has a long road to recovery. But Cesia has vowed to be there every step of the way. "I want to help [him], but [he] needs to want to help [himself.] It's going to be hard for him to let go of whatever addiction he has," she said.

    Hand-up Not Hand-Out

    Hand-up Not Hand-Out

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

“People need to have someone believe in them," Cesia said. Marcus and Cesia have come to the agreement to store 10% of every paycheck in a savings account. That way Marcus can learn to save money. "Just like Marcus, I had my help. I had plenty of people to help make it to where I am today. They believed I could do it,” explained Cesia.

    Love is the Answer

    Cesi Abi / Facebook

“God gave me this blessing so why can’t I bless others?” Cesia wrote on Facebook. “Do something nice for someone today and don’t judge them just because they out there asking for money for we don’t know their situation… some deserve another shot.” She continued by saying, “This is what should break the internet.” “We want change? Well, start by making one.” Nothing could be more true. Up next, another story featuring a homeless person in Boston, that is sure to leave you speechless.

    Found Backpack

    Found Backpack

    Imgur

What do you think you would do if you found a backpack with $40,000 in it? The answer to that was simple for a homeless man in Boston, named Glen James. James is a resident of a local homeless shelter in Boston. On September 4, a sunny Saturday, James sat among the shopping carts of a T.J. Maxx, attempting to stay shaded from the sun. As shoppers were going about their daily activities, James rested on his backpack, and proofread a letter.

    Left The Bag

    Left The Bag

As he continued to read, James noticed a young man sitting on an overturned carriage in front of the Best Buy. Sitting at his feet, was a black backpack. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, so James went back to his letter. The next time James looked up, the man was gone. But the black bag still remained!

    The Contents

    The Contents

After some time passed, James went to see what was in the bag that was left behind. What he found was shocking! Inside the bag was $2,400 in cash and almost $40,000 in travelers checks! There was also a passport and some personal papers. For a homeless person that survived on food stamps and spare change, the amount of money in that bag could have given James a new life. James wasn’t that type of person though. In fact, the thought of keeping it never even crossed his mind!

    Honest Man

    Honest Man

“Even if I were desperate for money, I would not have kept even a penny of the money found,” he said Monday in a handwritten statement. “God has always very well looked after me.” James flagged down police officers that were patrolling the area in front of the T.J. Maxx. He reported to them that he had found a black backpack that had “a large sum of money and a passport,” a police statement said.

    Kindness Of Others

    Kindness Of Others

About an hour after James reported the lost bag, the police received a call that someone had lost his backpack at the Best Buy. Later that night, the backpack, with every single penny, was returned to the owner – who was a student visiting Boston from China. James, a homeless man that relies on the kindness of others for survival, returned a small fortune without a second thought.

    Attitude Of Gratitude

    Attitude Of Gratitude

    Today

James found himself in front of a room of reporters, but instead of taking the glory, he used his time to thank other people. He thanked the people at the homeless shelter that looked out for him. He thanked the strangers that were kind enough to give him money on the street. He even thanked one of the city’s mayoral candidates for giving him $7 one day! “It’s just nice to have some money in one’s pockets so that as a homeless man I don’t feel absolutely broke all the time,” he said in a written statement.

    A Citation

    A Citation

    Boston Globe

Since James did the right thing, he received a citation at Boston police headquarters. Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis praised his “extraordinary show of character and honesty.” “It really is a remarkable tribute to him,” Davis said. James has a bit of a speech impediment that makes him a little self-conscious, so he didn’t say too much at the ceremony. When he was asked how he felt about returning the money, he didn’t pause in his response.

    Very Good

    Very Good

    Today

While letting out a laugh, James would respond, “Very, very good.” In the statement, James explained how he found the money, and spoke a little bit about himself. He worked as a file clerk at the courthouse for 13 years before being fired. The courts could not immediately confirm his employment. James has an inner-ear disorder that causes long spells of vertigo, so he wasn’t able to get another job.

    The Shelter

    The Shelter

    Today

Even though James does have siblings and other family he could live with, he doesn’t want to burden them. “The shelter is the perfect living situation with someone who has Meniere’s disease,” he wrote. “There are many people in the shelter to attend to me.” James hasn’t met the man who the belonged to, but he was very happy to be able to return it to him.

    Blessings

    Blessings

    Boston Globe

James calls the food stamps he receives “a blessing." He also panhandles for money to do his laundry, transportation, and “odds and ends”. Just having a little bit of money can make all the difference for James. “It’s just nice to have some money in one’s pockets so that as a homeless man I don’t feel absolutely broke all the time.” James thanked all of the people that have ever given money to him when they saw him.

    Touched By James' Good Deed

    Gofundme

Ethan Whittington, a 27-year-old marketing accounts manager from Midlothian, Va., was incredibly touched by James’ amazing story. He decided to launch a Gofundme on James’ behalf. Whittington looked at the situation as a “great opportunity to honor someone who has shown that there are still honorable people out there.”After only four hours, the campaign raised $3,152! After only one week, over $160,000 had been donated in James’ name!

    Changing His Life

    Changing His Life

"Let's all chip in and help this man change his life," wrote Whittington on the campaign page. The page also got housing offers for James! One of those offers was from Cynthia Lasprogata, who offered a one-bedroom apartment in Greene, New York, "until he is back on his feet financially." “I never ever in my wildest dreams imagined this,” Whittington said.

    Backpack Returned

    Today

Whittington plans to personally deliver the money to James and will either write him a check, or transfer the money to his bank account! In hopes of keeping money flowing to James over the years to come, Whittington will be linking the Gofundme directly to James’ bank account. When police received the backpack from James, they contacted mall security. Later on, the mall security was also contacted by Best Buy about someone losing a backpack that had quite a bit of money in it.

    One Last Wish

When he was walking out of the ceremony at police headquarters, James took deliberate steps, with his eyes directed at the floor. The employees then all stood up, and began applauding him! James’ eyes widened, and he nodded his thanks. When he got outside, James was asked if there was anything he wanted, anything at all. As he was getting into the police cruiser to go to the shelter, he replied, “No war.”

  • What Not To Do On Your Thanksgiving Flight Home.

    cdn.lifebuzz.com_images_230734_lifebuzz-3efc58e3280463b262d7bae34dd52744-thumb_800

Thanksgiving is finally here, which means you'll be traveling by plane to visit your family. And in a few days, you'll be heading back using the same mode of transportation. This means you can expect long lines at the airport, and some really nasty stuff. We're not just talking about babies screaming their heads off, or people talking too loudly in the middle of the night. We're calling out all those passengers who seem to forget that that a plane isn't a private jet. If you happen to be the one making people uncomfortable, then here are some things you should avoid doing on your Thanksgiving flight home.

#1. Playing footsies with the touchscreen monitor in front of you is just downright nasty.

You have hands and fingers, so use them to play poker or change the channel on those screens in front of you. No one else on the plane wants to smell or look at your stinky, sweaty feet touching that monitor.

Playing footsies with the touchscreen monitor in front of you is just downright nasty.

#2. When the flight attendant suggested that you go stretch your legs, this isn't what they hand in mind.

Doing yoga in such a confined space might put you in touch with your mind, body, and spirit, but it will also tick people off. Pretty soon you'll be getting in touch with someone's fist for blocking the bathroom.

When the flight attendant suggested that you go stretch your legs, this isn't what they hand in mind.

#3. This isn't what the flight attendant meant when they told everyone to enjoy the show.

Just because you can afford a cabin that lets you sleep like you were in your own bed, it doesn't give you the right to walk around baring it all for the other passengers to see. But if you do it, shave at least.

This isn't what the flight attendant meant when they told everyone to enjoy the show.

#4. Love them or hate them, you should never kick someone in the head with your Uggs.

If your seating accommodations are uncomfortable, then boo-hoo princess! Consider buying a first-class ticket next time. But don't make the person in front of you miserable by using their chairs as your foot rest.

Love them or hate them, you should never kick someone in the head with your Uggs.

#5. Creating your own makeshift hammock for your feet is out of line when you put everyone in danger.

Um, no way! You can MacGyver your way to a more comfortable seating arrangement, but when you attach something to the emergency exit hatch's latch, you're really blowing everyone away.

Creating your own makeshift hammock for your feet is out of line when you put everyone in danger.

#6. There are ways to handle bringing pets aboard a plane but this is really a stinky situation.

At least this lady was nice enough to put a pad in front of the door of the cockpit so that her dog could take a dump on the floor and wreck everyone's nostrils with the foul stench. Sure hope it wasn't dinner time.

There are ways to handle bringing pets aboard a plane but this is really a stinky situation.

#7. You have a lot of nerve turning the food tray into a pony tail holder, even though the tray isn't yours.

It can be a hairy situation when your ponytail can put the passenger behind off to eating anything while on the flight. Just don't be surprised if someone snips that thing off next time this happens.

You have a lot of nerve turning the food tray into a pony tail holder, even though the tray isn't yours.

#8. The woman taking the photo is wondering if this is what they meant with the mile-high club.

It looks like the guy on the right decided that watching reruns of "Modern Family" on his chair display wasn't entertaining enough, so he blew up his own form of entertainment. Yeah, don't this on a plane, ever!

The woman taking the photo is wondering if this is what they meant with the mile-high club.

#9. Ah, that passenger who decided that it was getting a little too warm inside the cabin.

It's not that we're trying to be mean or anything, but unless you're David Beckham, keep the shirt on. There's a reason why they don't provide service to people without shirts. They should include that rule on planes.

Ah, that passenger who decided that it was getting a little too warm inside the cabin.

#10. There's something terrifying about seeing someone putting a bag over their heads.

Maybe you need it to help you sleep, or to keep your weave from getting messed up. But it's way too creepy. Besides, you don't want strangers walking up to you and checking your pulse every two minutes.

There's something terrifying about seeing someone putting a bag over their heads.

#11. Passenger seats are designed with comfort in mind, but they have their limits.

Using a seat as a place to hang your bras or any other kind of intimate apparel is just wrong. But if your bra is really hurting your girls, just go to the restroom, take it off, and stick it in your purse.

Passenger seats are designed with comfort in mind, but they have their limits.

#12. So you have a long flight ahead of you and you decided to give yourself a pedicure.

When the term "crow's feet" doesn't apply to the wrinkles around your eyes but those nasty claws you call toes, it's time to consider leaving that pedicure to the professionals. A plane isn't your personal beauty salon.

So you have a long flight ahead of you and you decided to give yourself a pedicure.

The doctor prescribed some moving around, stretching of the legs, and taking it easy, but doing yoga on the ceiling?

    That's unheard of.

#13. There's a reason why it's called personal grooming and not just grooming here, folks!

You're stuck on a plane with a bunch of strangers, so why don't you leave the personal grooming at home and enjoy the flight? No one needs to see your significant other popping those blackheads on your nose.

There's a reason why it's called personal grooming and not just grooming here, folks!

#14. We're pretty sure that there were no actually planes in the Stone Age, except on "The Flintstones."

No need to go all Fred Flintstone or Barney Rubble and walk around barefoot inside the cabin. If you want to stay comfortable, come into the 21st century and wear some flip-flops when you're out and about.

We're pretty sure that there were no actually planes in the Stone Age, except on "The Flintstones."

#15. Seriously, some people need to remember that airplanes aren't like motel rooms.

You can't use those seats like they were a nice comfy mattress for you and your significant other. Remember that there's always someone with a phone ready to take a snap to share.

Seriously, some people need to remember that airplanes aren't like motel rooms.

#16. If you happen to be giving birth on a plane, then we're totally cool with this position.

If you assumed that this is what the flight attendant meant when they discussed the different types of crashing positions, you are way off. You're a grown-up, so put those feet down and sit like an adult.

If you happen to be giving birth on a plane, then we're totally cool with this position.

#17. There's a time and a place to go nom, nom, nom on a corn, and this isn't one of them.

Imagine how annoying it is to everyone else listening to you chomp and chew like a horse as you bite and suck on those corn kernels. We get that you can't wait to eat those Thanksgiving leftovers, but try anyway.

There's a time and a place to go nom, nom, nom on a corn, and this isn't one of them.

#18. Okay, so you think you have the prettiest toes on the entire planet and want to show them off.

When you get home, take your shoes off, grab your phone and take snaps to upload to Instagram. You don't need to be stinking up the cabin. Remember, it's a small space and odors travel faster than planes.

Okay, so you think you have the prettiest toes on the entire planet and want to show them off.

#19. If you've got some unusual appendages, make sure that it doesn't bother other people.

Sporting claws that make Wolverine look harmless is your business. But use some good judgment when you're traveling with those things. Even resting your hands on a chair's head rest can be dangerous for others.

If you've got some unusual appendages, make sure that it doesn't bother other people.

#21. We're not judging anyone who happens to have detachable parts like these dentures.

If you've got artificial limbs or dentures, make sure they stay attached to your body, particularly the latter. No one wants to pick up your lost icky dentures full of saliva and come find you.

We're not judging anyone who happens to have detachable parts like these dentures.

#22. Public display of affection might be okay for some and off-putting for other passengers.

Okay, so hand-holding might be alright. But try to avoid going overboard. Remember that you're in public. Children are watching and people are judging you, especially those with camera phones.

Public display of affection might be okay for some and off-putting for other passengers.

#23. We've talked about how annoying it can be to bring certain pets aboard a plane.

There are two things most people simply can't handle. Snakes on a plane can be a real nightmare, but so can a huge spider. It doesn't matter if he's a part of your family. To everyone else, it's a reason to make an emergency landing.

We've talked about how annoying it can be to bring certain pets aboard a plane.

#24. Babies are cute, and are better seen and not heard, but they don't deserve this.
